MEETING OF THE MINDS- ALEXANDER MICHAEL GITTENS

LIFESTYLE

WORLDWIDE

Welcome to an engaging and lively chat between two individuals who share a passion for excellence and living life to the fullest. In this special blog post, Alexander Michael Gittens, a close friend and an inspiring leader in his own right, sits down with Amber Walker, founder of Amber Walker Events. They dive into everything from ambition to contentment and even get real about what makes someone a great partner in life and work.

Alexander Michael Gittens: Leading with Excellence

Alexander kicks off the conversation by talking about his philosophy on excellence. “You get up, you go to the gym, you weigh your food… you’re high level at everything you do,” Amber tells him, making a spot-on observation about Alexander's approach to life. And she’s right—Alexander doesn’t settle for mediocrity in anything. Whether it’s running his own successful business or simply staying active, he’s all in.

But as Alexander listens, he realizes it's not about finding someone who's just as ambitious as he is—it’s about finding someone who truly believes in the things that matter to him. "You need someone who believes what you believe, who has the same level of care and dedication," Amber affirms. It’s about shared values, a commitment to what’s important, and not being afraid to stand firm on those beliefs.

The Journey of Real Connections

Alexander shares a deeply personal story about his business partner, "Neighbor," who’s been with him for over two decades. From humble beginnings to building a thriving company together, their bond has remained solid. Alexander acknowledges that life changes—his business partner is now a full-time mom, and while her role in the company has shifted, her dedication and love for the work are still evident.

Even when life takes people in different directions, the essence of how they show up—whether as a business partner, friend, or parent—remains the same. It’s not about the size of the job; it’s about how you approach what you’re entrusted with, and that’s where the magic happens.

For Alexander, it’s not about expecting superhuman feats from someone else. It’s about finding joy in what you do and making the best out of any situation. Amber couldn’t agree more, emphasizing that whether big or small, taking pride in your responsibilities is what truly makes someone stand out.

The Question of Contentment

With the conversation now turning to deeper reflections on life, Amber poses a thought-provoking question to Alexander: “What does contentment look like for you? When you’re sitting on a swing in the Dominican Republic, old and gray, what will that moment of contentment feel like?”

Alexander’s response? A powerful reminder of the importance of gratitude. "Contentment, for me, is an extension of gratitude," Alexander explains. He reflects on how much he already has—good health, literacy, the privilege of living in a country of freedom—and how these blessings create a foundation of peace in his life.

"It’s not about being satisfied," he says, "I’m ambitious, but I’ve already reached a place of contentment because of the things I’ve been given. I just want to stay true to what matters, let go when necessary, and give effort to the things I can control." His peaceful and grounded perspective serves as a gentle reminder that contentment isn’t always about achieving more—it’s about appreciating where you are right now.

Closing Thoughts: Gratitude and Growth

As the conversation winds down, Alexander and Amber reflect on their own journeys of growth, ambition, and contentment. Amber shares how grateful she is for the lessons learned from their discussion and for Alexander challenging her to open up and reflect on the things that matter most. “I can now say that I’m glad we went there,” she shares with a smile, thankful for the opportunity to dive deep into these big life questions.

For Alexander, this conversation is just another example of why he’s so driven to connect with the people in his life, whether it’s a business partner, friend, or someone he’s sharing a moment of reflection with. In the end, it’s not about perfection, but about striving to do things well, and being thankful for everything we have along the way.

Thanks for joining us on this journey of thoughts and reflections with Alexander and Amber. We hope it gave you some fresh perspectives on excellence, gratitude, and the joy that comes from living life with intention!
